On Friday, I went to North Beach in San Francisco. I had tortellini at Mona Lisa. Then we went to City Lights bookstore, founded in 1953 (the same year I was born) and the nucleus of the Beat movement. The staff was very helpful. When they saw that I had a walker, they brought me books from the basement. I ended buying $82 of books by my favorite Buddhist authors Pema Chodron and Thich Nhat Hahn. We went to the Beat museum on Broadway and looked at the books. We didn’t go into the museum. When I got back, I planned my budget for 2023. I am going to cut down on excursions and meals out. I am going to take more local trips. Nicholas put me on his Hulu. I enjoyed watching documentaries on Kurt vonnegut and Truman capote.
